HOLY SPIRIT DAY!
What a wonderful day of celebration! Together we celebrated Mass with Fr James Arblaster and commemorated 40 Years of Holy Spirit College with the school community and special guests, including Catholic Education Office Wollongong representative Mr Tim Gilmour, previous College Principals Mr Michael Morris, Mr Mark Baker, Mrs Amanda Wilson and inaugural College Assistant Principal Sr Maria Casey.
The 40th Anniversary Commemorative Sculpture, designed by Ms Monique Fennell, was blessed by Father Arblaster, and the remainder of the day was filled with fun activities including rides, bubble soccer, paintball, karaoke and the finale - a House Tug of War Challenge! Congratulations to Belmore House who won the Junior Tug of War and Sandon House who won the Senior event.
Although the girls displayed great skill and tactics, it was the boys who proved superior in the Battle of the Sexes League Tag Challenge. A great, entertaining game, well done to all players!
Thank you also to Year 9 Commerce students who did an amazing job providing an array of food options, and also the College Environmental Group who coordinated the very popular Second Hand Clothing stall.

As part of our Holy Spirit Day celebrations the Battle of the Sexes League Tag will be a challenge of superiority between the boys and the girls on the sports field. Coaches Mr Murray Cleal and Mrs Sarah Costabile will lead the boys and girls teams respectively. With a lot of talent on both sides it will be a hard fought affair!

FUTSAL SUCCESS
Well done to our Under 14s and Under 16s boys and girls Futsal teams, who competed in the Regional Tournament this week.
Both Under 14s teams placed 3rd in the region. The girls were very unlucky losing to TIGS (eventual winners) in the semi-finals in extra time (2-1) after winning the 4 pool games comfortably. The boys progressed through the preliminary rounds into the quarters, beating TIGS 5-0 but succumbing to eventual winners Edmund Rice 4-0 in the semi-final.
The Under 16s boys played really well but unfortunately after 2 draws, 1 win, and 1 loss, they came 3rd in their pool and didn`t progress to the QF round. However, the girls had an exceptional day and played outstanding! They were undefeated and crowned Regional Champions. The team will now travel to Penrith in early September to compete in the State Championships.

Sibling photos are also available and forms can be collected from Student Services.

Our runners had some fantastic results with a number of Top 3 placings including Lucy Hoskins (1st 13 Years Girls), Jordan Dent (1st Open Male Multiclass), Ethan Sherlock (2nd 12 Years Boys), Charlotte Neville (2nd 13 Years Girls), Alyssa Monkman (2nd 16 Years Girls) and Jazz Munro (3rd 18 Years Girls). A fabulous effort from the whole team!
