The student environmental group involve themselves in activities and initiatives to improve the sustainability and environment of the school.
The group has been involved in a number of good causes within the school. The preloved clothing sale is beginning to become a recognised part of Holy Spirit Day activities and is a favourite among the students.
They have also helped to brighten the atmosphere of the school by putting the money they collected in the Return and Earn scheme towards their project of painting the centre area steps. This was an enjoyable venture and a great team effort and has made the centre area a friendlier looking place.
Initiatives with recycling, litter removal and waste management have also occurred, as well as a number of fun activities such as making bags from old T-shirts and a beach clean up on Bellambi beach.
The future looks exciting with the writing of a proper School Environment Management Policy and the formation of a new staff environmental group to supplement the work of the students. A united effort to improve the sustainability of the school community and have fun saving the planet.
