Student Award System

The Holy Spirit College Award system encompasses all aspects of College life. It is a progressive system leading to the highest Award in the College, the ‘Live by the Truth Award’.

Student Award System

The College has a structured award system that is embedded in the PB4L framework and our core values of R.I.S.E. These values direct our sets of positive behaviours for each area of the College and allow us to acknowledge the positive contribution that students make to our community each and every day. These values reinforce the aspects of our culture that make Holy Spirit College a distinctive and vibrant community.

Students receive merits for their contribution to College life and these contribute to more substantial awards. We aim to involve parents in the process of recognition and also acknowledge students publicly for their achievements.

Merit System

The College is committed to developing ways of recognising individual student achievement and acknowledging positive behaviour. Teachers award individual students with merits based on the College’s values of Resilience, Integrity, Spirit and Excellence. The merits are recorded in Compass and parents and students are notified by email. The accumulative merit system operates as follows:

6 merits = Bronze Award*

3 x Bronze Awards = Silver Award

2 x Silver Awards = Gold Award

2 x Gold Awards = Live by the Truth

*Bronze Awards can also be allocated by a Year Coordinator or KLA Coordinator for a one-off achievement or contribution to the College.
